One extended cruise through Australia is being halted following the tragic passing of an elderly woman who was abandoned by the ship on a remote coastal location.

The elderly woman had been walking on the tropical location with fellow passengers from the vessel, but broke off from the excursion for a break. The ship departed without her and went back several hours later after the ship staff realised the woman was missing.

A major search operation discovered her body the following day.
