Norris Edges Out Oscar Piastri in Sao Paulo Practice Session
The British driver has beaten his teammate at each of the past five grands prix.
Lando Norris just pipped team-mate and championship contender the Australian for the quickest lap in the dying seconds of the practice session at the Sao Paulo Grand Prix.
The British racer, who grabbed the title advantage from his teammate by one point after taking the win in the Mexican Grand Prix two weeks ago, beat the Melbourne-born driver by a tiny margin of 0.023secs.
Earlier in the session, Oscar Piastri had been the fastest McLaren driver for most of the session before sprint qualifying scheduled for 18:30 GMT.
The Red Bull star, the sole remaining contender in the points battle, sitting 36 points behind behind Norris, was classified in 17th place as his Red Bull team followed a unique setup.
Verstappen's team-mate the Japanese driver was the only driver to crash, though minor, when he lost control at corner four early in the session.
Tsunoda spun out over the curbs on exit before rotating through the gravel trap, and was fortunate to get away with just a slight brush of the fence.
Ferrari's Lewis Hamilton also had a spin, at the conclusion of the practice, rotating twice through the quick descending Mergulho turn approaching the last turn on to the start-finish straight.
Hamilton ended the session in 19th place, trailing team-mate the Monegasque driver.
The McLaren pair were significantly quicker of the remaining drivers, with Nico Hulkenberg's Sauber in third, over half a second behind the Australian's time.
Aston Martin's Fernando Alonso was in fourth, with the Sauber of Gabriel Bortoleto ahead of Mercedes' George Russell and the Alpine of Gasly and the Williams of Carlos Sainz.
