An additional two individuals have been arrested related to a theft at Heathrow Airport in which over twenty individuals were injured by what is thought to be pepper spray, as stated by police.
A man, 24, was taken into custody in the Lambeth area for suspected robbery and assault and a woman, 23 was detained on suspicion of conspiring to commit a robbery. Both individuals remain in custody, authorities confirmed.
These detentions follow an investigation into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Prior to the incident, a pair of female travelers had stolen from them their suitcases upon exiting a parking garage elevator.
A three-year-old girl was one of the injured in the event. Five people went to hospital for treatment and have since been released.
Officers arrested a man in his thirties on suspicion of robbery and assault near the location. He has since been released under investigation as the investigation proceeds.
Police were alerted at approximately 08:10 GMT after reports came in regarding several people hurt by a noxious substance believed to be pepper spray.
The assault - an event that police said was a standalone incident and not considered an act of terror - resulted in delays to rail services and the temporary shutdown of the main airport tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking facility briefly.
